About the Trailblazing Women blog

What's this blog about? It's what it says on the tin. While researching Margaret Cavendish, I'm becoming increasingly aware of just how many women are neglected throughout history in every single discipline. Finding out about women in history has always been a passion of mine, going way back to my early teens. However, now I'm a researcher in Philosophy, if the woman doesn't fit into my research or she isn't a Philosopher, then I don't write about her, no matter how fascinating I think she is. So this blog is somewhere I can share what I've learnt about trailblazing women I think are interesting when researching for my academic books and podcast.

I shall not be restricting myself to any particular field or era. I'm a filing sort of person, I like to have dedicated sections for things, so I feel this topic requires a separate blog from even Feminism, Literature, Science and so on because here I'll be looking at them very differently. Sometimes there'll be an overlap of interest, for instance, Sappho is relevant to literature, LGBT+ and women in history; Ada Lovelace is relevant to history of science and women's history. I won't restrict myself to only women in history, although I'm passionate about women's history. I may also want to include living women who are trailblazers in our time.
